Although she possesses the innocence and sweetness of a Disney princess, Amanda is keeping a big secret from her boyfriend, Marcus. Will their Valentine’s Day celebration move their relationship forward, or will she ruin it with deception? Or perhaps she will figure out how to get around the truth and keep her man?
Zoe’s Secret Crush
Zoe was introduced in The Juggling Act as the new female singer in Brandon’s band, Chain. Young, fairly new in town and full of energy, Zoe is sleeping with her boss at the tattoo shop, but secretly in love with someone else. The forbidden crush is eating away at her while she tries to decide – should she leave the band? Tell the truth? Make it go of it with Axl, her sexy boss? Or just leave town and head back to Chicago, where the cold might freeze her illicit thoughts?

Loving all of Carol Maloney Scott's books in this series. This set of 3 short stories gives you a glimpse into 3 of the secondary characters from the main series. We get to see what Justin, Amanda and Zoe are up to some of their own adventures for Valentines Day. Justin, one of Claire's younger suitors, now has a new girlfriend - a Claire look alike who he brings home to meet his rich family. Amanda, one of the secretaries and Bella Donna publishing is facing her own demons before she can move forward with her boyfriend. Finally, Zoe, the new lead singer of Chain, has a crush on a married band mate but also has an interesting relationship with her boss/coworker. It is nice to see Claire is not the only hot mess of the bunch. I can't wait to see how these stories further develop in future stories. Onto the next one 😊Product details

This was my first read by this author, so I apparently have missed ALOT. This being said it was. Very short and enjoyable read.
Another great addition to Carol Scott's collection of stories. I absolutely loved reading about Valentine's Day from three different characters that have all made their appearances in the Rom-Com on the Edge series. Once again, more complication is slipped into Claire and Brandon's ever-changing crazy life. It was a very nice change to see minor characters with the light on them and their personal lives. I feel like I know each character better every time I read one of Carol's books! This was a perfect tie-over until her next novel comes out!
I really like Carol Maloney Scott's writing style. I love this book of short stories that gives a little more insight to some of the characters from her other books. It was fun to see a mix of what this crazy thing called love can look like at different times and for different people. Really enjoy the Rom-com books and look forward to reading any and all things she writes.
Valentines on the Edge is a collection of three short stories. I received this book by signing up for Carol Maloney Scott's newsletter and this is a voluntary review, I was not asked to leave one. For a collection of short stories, I was impressed. I usually do not enjoy short stories, but because these stories were linked to one of her larger books, it drew me in.
Valentines on the Edge by Carol Maloney Scott is a fun compilation of stories to read. I gave it four stars.
It includes Justin's State of Denial where Justin takes Marissa to meet his parents for Valentine's Day.
He has sisters-in-law from hell & it isn't a good time. It was a fun story to read. “Okay, I just wish you would say more. I’m used to women who talk things to death. Your silence is eerie and foreboding.” Cute twist at the end.
Amanda's White Lie is an intriguing story. "Cecilia licks her fingers as she finishes icing the pink and red cookies. The combination of her ‘I love cats’ apron and her black spiky hair and blood red lips are striking, yet confusing. She used to be the bad co-worker at Bella Donna Press. Stealing men, lying, and scaring the crap out of people, especially me. But now she’s all butterflies and unicorns since she went on of those meditation retreats where you find yourself. It’s like the Evil Queen from Snow White was transformed into Mary Poppins".
Amanda's White Lie is a cute story. Uncle Mel & Bob watch over Amanda Jane Ferguson like she was their daughter after her parents died her senior year of high school. They are retired cops. The neighborhood where they live has gotten run down. She did not learn fiscal responsibility & is deep in debt. Her boyfriend proposed on Valentine's Day & she needed to figure out how to let him know her problem.
Zoe’s Secret Crush is about an apprentice piercer & singer for a band whose love life is complicated.
I received a complimentary kindle copy from the author. That did not change my opinion for this review.

I found these stories to be entertaining. Besides having romance, the characters are relatable. There is also a emphasis on family. I am very glad I read Valentines on the Edge in exchange for my opinion. This book is a good read. I recommend this book be in your read pile.
Not very good, kind of juvenile. Didn’t like the characters and they didn’t engage me. The “stories” weren’t stories at all, just disjointed points of view of self centered people.
